National Conference 2011
Inaugural Function
A National Conference on Modern Trends in Science & Technology MTST-2011 is organized by Dr. M.V. Shetty Institute of Technology, Thodar, Moodbidri on 14th & 15th October 2011.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. S.N. Hegde Former Vice Chancellor, Mysore University. In his inaugural speech, he focused on the entrepreneurship development by the students & prompted the students to find reasons for why our Scientists & Technologists are not acknowledged & appreciated presently. Unlike the ancient era, where we stood at the top.
He concluded saying that Science is not for Scientists & Technology is not for Technologists, but it is for a better living.
Dr. E.J. James, Dean (Research) & Director (Water Institute), Karunya University, Coimbatore was the Guest of Honour. While addressing the gathering, he emphasized on the ideas of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach in Research & Development fields. He motivated the students researchers by giving examples from young noble laureates and Scientists all round the world. He encouraged the students to have a positive & broad outlook. The conference souvenir was released on the occasion.
President, Dr. M. Ramgopal Shetty, Secretary of Dr. M.V. Shetty Trust stressed on the aspects of innovation & Research & development in each departments at the college level.
Dr. Jayaram Hegde, A.O. Dr. MVST, Dr. Suresh Kumar M.R, Secretary, Organizing Committee, MTST-11 were present. Almost 100 papers from various fields of Science & Technology will be presented in the two days conference which will be held in the college.
The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by chief guest,Secretary and
Principal. Dr . Suchithra K . Rao has given a talk on importance of blood donation.
She explained about different segments of blood and types of donars, formalities,
Eligibility criteria and suggestions to the blood donors.
The welcome speech was done by Mr .Jayaprakash W. Pinto, Preethi proposed the vote of thanks and program was co-ordinated by Mr John Paul vas and Preethi. After the ceremony students and teaching and Non teahing staff members were volunterly donated the blood.
